What are the motivations behind the desire to learn Spanish? What attitudes do learners associate with the language? The book presents the results of a series of surveys with learners in Berlin at universities and workers in tourism. Based on the concept of ‘Language Making’, it shows how they help to form a conception of Spanish and situate this global language as a local foreign language.
